Yin Yoga

Discover what sets our women-only Yin Yoga class in Solihull apart.

Harmony in contrast

Modern life is often very 'yang' - stimulating, constantly moving and doing. Yin is the opposite - it's slower, quieter, softer, and more reflective. If Yang is like climbing a mountain through effort and momentum, Yin is like floating gently down a river. Both are important. Just as balance in life requires both action and rest, yoga does too. Our Yin Yoga class in Solihull is built around this philosophy.

Feel the difference

Our Yin Yoga class in Solihull gently targets deeper structures - improving mobility, easing tightness, and bringing the body back into balance.

Positioning

Unlike faster-paced yoga, Yin Yoga positions are held for several minutes at a time, allowing the body to gradually release tension

Benefits of Yin Yoga

First developed during the 1970s, Yin Yoga explores the relationship between anatomy, connective tissue, energy pathways, and mindfulness

Deep tissue release

Dynamic exercise targets the muscles through movement and heat – akin to 'yang' energy. In contrast, deeper connective tissues are considered 'yin', being denser and slower to adapt, responding better to gentle, sustained stress.

Health benefits

In youth, the body is flexible, but with age, inactivity and stress make connective tissues stiffer. Yin Yoga restores elasticity and mobility.

To improve flexibility and joint health, our Yin Yoga class in Solihull complements intense 'yang' activities like strength training and running.
